A+A: Bootleg #1

Prior to the announcement that I was taking over the writing duties on Archer and Armstrong for Valiant, I wrote and drew this 12-page Bootleg mini-comic which was sent out to a few dozen Valiant-friendly (and Rafer Roberts-friendly) comic shops and fans. Soon, the Valiant fans started making their own bootleg copies of the mini and started distributing it among the fan community, using different paper colors and stock to create infinite variants. There was a gold edition printed on fancy yellow paper, and a sketch cover edition where everything below the title was made blank.

I’m not entirely sure how much this weird little comic affected the sales of the real A+A comic, but it certainly was fun to make.
