A reminder that I will be at the Pittsburgh Independent Comics Expo (PIX) this weekend. There’s gonna be a lot of cool guests and it looks like it’s being held in a pretty cool location. Here is the website.
Eric posted about his love affair with WFMU last night (and I reblogged that post) and I’ve posted a bit about the station and their fundraiser marathon a few times this past week. But I’d like to talk just a little bit more.
Half of my comics were drawn while listening to WFMU. It’s probably the most comic book friendly radio station in America. An episode of The Best Show on WFMU last year featured Matt Fraction and Dave Wyndorf as guests. Chris Ware, Danny Hellman, Brian Chippendale, Gary Panter, Michael DeForge, and many others have contributed artwork for WFMU shirts and posters. To help support our favorite radio station, Eric Grissom and I will be sending free pdfs of our comics to anyone who pledges during the marathon. You’ll also get some cool stuff from WFMU (they are giving away a flask and rolling papers this year!) but we thought we’d help and give you a little bit more. He outlines the details in his post, but here they are again.
2) ONLINE PLEDGES: Take a screen shot of your receipt from an online pledge (blackout or hide any personal details you don’t want shared, we just need to know you pledged)
PHONE PLEDGES: If you call into a show take a photo of yourself while you’re calling in. That should be enough right? If you really go that far to get a free comic there’s something wrong with you as a person.
