Support Local Creativity and craft beer at our monthly art and live music showcase. From 6 to 9 pm, we’ll have live music by Affection for Reality and work on display from local artists, including Rafer Roberts, Karen Peacock, Jamie Gerhold, Rebekah Harden, and Rachel Cohen.
Admission is free with $5 for 5 beer
Event! “Fever Dreams of Organic Machines: The Comic Book Art of Rafer Roberts” show at VisArts Gallery in Rockville, MD.
August 3-September 8th. Presenting Rafer Roberts’ comic book art, mostly drawn with india ink on bristol, with homages to early comic pioneers and an emphasis on the creepy and unsettling.
A fervent reader of comics since an early age, Rafer has been creating comics for most of his life. Mostly known as the creator, writer and artist of the underground comic PLASTIC FARM, Rafer is also the man behind NIGHTMARE THE RAT as well as the former editor of Washington DC’s MAGIC BULLET comic newspaper. He currently lives in western Maryland with his wife and muse and their several cats.
This is a free event, with a free opening reception Friday, August 3rd – 7:00 to 9:00 PM. I will be doing a brief live reading of a few comics.
